This is the first in a series of blogs that Safeguard will be publishing.  Our aim is to help you with security in your premises be that the home you live in, the vacation rental home that you own or your business premises.  The concept is always the same – just applied slightly differently for different premise types.

What is the most important part of your security system – is it feeling safe whilst you are in the premises?  Is it feeling safe whilst you are away from the premises? Is it feeling safe when returning to your premises?  Whatever it is you have to ensure the system is able to work with you.  Yes work with you!  It is pointless having a system that does not interact with you and in this day and age and with the technology available those systems are available.

Take for instance a vacation rental home, the owner is 1,500 or more miles away how do they know their premises are secure?  The answer is in the system that is installed – using up to date technology and an internet connection it need not be a worry to you if someone has gone into your premises, the system can be set up to ping an e-mail to you each and every time the door is opened, closed, locked – utilising hardware that is compatible with the systems that are available.
